I was thinking of how we can set up our web page. Each of us can do a part of the recycling circle. So one would do reduce, one reuse, and one recycle. Then each one of use could do a page for kids on our topic and one for teachers (with the lesson plans and stuff). That way we both get our two pages done. Let me know what you think.

Final stretch
I don't know if you have read what is comming up these next two weeks, but we are in the final stretch. We need to make a gmail account that all of us can access first and for most so that we can begin our web site. The sooner the better in my opinion. There is a lot involved in this so lets get started!! I am going to bed now, but will check the blog tomarrow after work so shout out any ideas if you got them.
Final Inspiration
Alright, we are in the final stretches of this class. The final inpiration is due this week. Ken did part A and I did part B, so Megan it is your turn for part C. If you need any help Ken and I should be able to help you out. Look at our inspirations we posted earlier and you can base it on those. Good luck, and e-mail me with any questions, problems, or concerns.

Podcast needed
Megan,
I have Ken and mine podcasts put together. I am just waiting on yours. Remember it is due today and you need to send it to my e-mail so that I can get it in time to add yours in and post it into blackboard. I read through your script and it looks good and I know where to put it in our podcast so that all three flow together, but please send it to me. I will be e-mailing you as a reminder as well, just in case you don't check the blog and that way when you are done with yours, you can send it to me as a reply. If you have any questions reguarding your podcast you can blog it or e-mail me and I will try my hardest to help.

Ken's Script
When starting up a schoolwide recycling effort the first step is to know what will and will not be recycled. This materials can range from food such as raw fruit to synthetic materials such as plastic. Food, Batteries, printer cartridges, paper, metal, and plastic are all things we can recycle. Materials such as food are easier to recycle as we can just add them to a compost pile. Other materials such as printer cartridges are more complicated. Before we start we need to look at our asset map. On our asset map is Billy’s dad, who works in our community recycling center. He will come to our class to describe in detail every way each item gets recycled. We will also look at social bookmarking. This is a resource you can use to tag different websites with keywords and share them with other people. For example, we can look for tags like recycling. Now that we know what we can recycle how can we collect the materials?

My podcast script
Now that we know all of the materials that we can collect it is imperative that we find the best way to collect these materials to make our school a cleaner place. The kids of student council have written up a project sketch to get the ball rolling on the places that they feel recycling bins would be best placed. So far they have decided placing a paper recycling bins next to most of the trash bins in the school. This will include in each classroom, every hallway, and in the offices. They also want bins to collect other recyclables in each classroom and separate bins for each recyclable in the student council room. We will be setting up a blog that allows us to keep an on-line diary of the success of our recycling program as well as be open to teachers, students, parents, and other concerned community members to make suggestions and participate in our recycling program!
Hey Girls
I am leaving for the weekend on Friday night. I talked to Katelyn already and we were thinking either one of us will combine all of the podcasts (Unless you want to, Megan).
I am okay with doing but I need your portion emailed to me no later than Thursday at 5 PM. I have to work all day friday before I leave. Katelyn, if you would rather do it over the actual weekend that would work to and I could get you my portion before I leave. Megan, if you want to do it we can all just send it your way.
Like I told Katelyn, if one of you two were to combine them all I would be little to no help over the weekend. Because I will not have cell phone reception, let alone an internet connection.
I guess if you just want to leave your ideas in the comments that would be cool.

podcast topics
I was thinking for the podcast that we should each pick a star from the colaborative inspiration and focus on that for our own individual podcast. That way our information doesn'e overlap, and it also should be able to flow. We still need to discuss the specifics of what we will say.

updated collaborative inspiration
Ken I altered some of your original inspiration and added a few things. I hope it looks good to you.

Excel lesson plan
My lesson plan is going to incorperate documenting the amount of trash their classroom collects and how many items can actually be recycled to see how recycling can make a difference in their classroom.
Inspiration
I will download the inspiration/kinsperation program and do the revised inspiration since Ken did it last time. I will e-mail or post if I need any help doing it.

Paper writing
Hey Ken,
I have not heard from you lately, I hope all is well for you and this class. I wrote my papers, but didn't enjoy it. I hate research papers. There was a lot of good information on virtual feild trips and assisted teachnology.

web outline
It looks great. I would like to add a part though that also implements biodegradable products into the classroom for things that can't be recycled and also have products in the classroom that have been recycle. I think that this will add a more whole outlook to recycling and give our students a better idea of all the aspects of recycling. what do you think??
